Baobab Alley Sculpture

One of Madagascar's most famous landscapes, this short stretch of road near Morondava is flanked on both sides by majestic baobab trees. Some of these trees can be 1,000 years old, with enormous, gnarled branches fanning out from the tops of their trunks. The best times to visit Baobab Avenue are at sunset and sunrise, when the colors of the trees and surrounding land intensify and the shadows are most pronounced.
